Alexander Felixovich Sklyar is a Russian rock musician, radio presenter, actor,
and author from Moscow, born on March 7, 1958. He graduated from MGIMO in 1979.
Sklyar began his musical career as a guitarist for the band 777 in 1979 before
joining Tsentr in 1985. In 1986, he founded the group Va-Bank. Sklyar
established the alternative music festival Learn to Swim and in 1995 formed the
duo Botsman i brodyaga with Garik Sukachov. He launched a solo career in 1998
with the album Po napravleniyu k tango, exploring Russian chanson and jazz-rock.
