Zeki Müren was a Turkish singer, composer, actor, and poet born in Bursa in
1931. He developed an interest in music during his school years and studied at
Boğaziçi High School before attending the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts.
After winning a radio competition in 1950, he made his first live radio
performance in 1951 on Istanbul Radio and gained national recognition with the
record "Bir Muhabbet Kuşu". In 1955, his song "Manolyam" earned Turkey’s first
