Zafiris Melas
Zafeiris Melas, born on October 13, 1952, in Xanthi, Greece, is a Greek
contemporary pop-folk laïko singer. Melas grew up in a poor neighborhood and
began performing folkloric songs in local groups. He was discovered by Cosmos
recording company owners Antonis Stamboulis and Poly Vairemidi, leading to his
debut album, Ας Αλλάξουμε Το Θέμα, in 1983. His discography includes Τα
Φωτοστέφανα (1989), Melas Live (2001), and Στην Υγεία Σου (2013). Throughout his
career, Melas partnered with other Greek singers, including Manolis
Angelopoulos, Vasilis Karras, Popi Maliotaki, and Antypas.
