Harry Skarbo, also known as Harry Stewart, born on October 21, 1908, in Tacoma,
Washington, was an entertainer, singer, comedian, and songwriter, known for his
portrayal of Yogi Yorgesson. He developed this character while appearing on the
Al Pearce radio show from 1932 to 1937. Stewart's breakthrough came with Capitol
Records in October 1949 when he released "I Yust Go Nuts at Christmas / Yingle
Bells", which became a hit, reached number 24, selling over one million copies.
