Yaco Monti, born Julio César Eugenio on December 18, 1944, in Villa Mercedes,
San Luis, Argentina, was an Argentine melodic singer-songwriter and actor. From
a young age, Monti was drawn to singing due to his vocal abilities and learned
guitar under the tutelage of his father while studying at Colegio Militar. He
adopted the stage name Yaco from the Bible and Monti from his mother's surname.
In 1966, he traveled to Uruguay to participate in the Festival Internacional de
la Canción Parque del Plata, where he competed against notable figures like
