The Chinese pop singer Xu Song began his musical career whilst still a medical
student in Anhui Province. Moonlighting as a singer and using the name Vae, he
would upload cover versions of tracks by popular C-pop artists such as Jay Chou
and slowly built up a considerable following for his work. Despite his growing
success Xu Song continued his academic studies and turned down numerous offers
