Wolna Grupa Bukowina was founded in 1970 in Busko‑Zdrój by Wojciech Belon, who
later became its central songwriter and leader. The band’s early breakthrough
came in 1971 when Wojciech Belon and Grażyna Kulawik won a major prize at the IV
All‑Poland Student Touristic Song Fair with "Ponidzie". During the 1970s they
played at festivals such as Gdańsk’s Bazuna and Kraków’s Student Song Festival,
