Winston Walls
Winston Walls, born on October 17, 1942, in Ironton, Ohio, was an American jazz
musician. He grew up in Charleston, West Virginia, where he played drums and
piano during his teenage years. His breakthrough came when Bill Doggett hired
him as a drummer; however, Walls soon began replacing Doggett on the organ
during breaks. Walls collaborated with numerous notable artists throughout his
career, including George Benson, Lou Donaldson, Al Green, Brother Jack McDuff,
Pointer Sisters, Charley Pride, Sonny Stitt, Ike & Tina Turner, and Dionne
