Winston Delano Riley, born on May 14, 1943, in Kingston, Jamaica, was a singer
and music producer known for his contributions to reggae and dancehall music. At
16, he founded The Techniques; their early songs were produced by Coxsone Dodd
and Duke Reid. In 1964, Riley established Techniques Records, releasing debut
singles like "My Girl" by The Techniques. His breakthrough came in 1971 with
Dave Barker's "Double Barrel", which topped the UK charts and reached number 25
