Wimme Saari
Wimme Saari (born 1959), also known as Wimme, is a Finnish Sami yoiker and
singer from Kelottijärvi. Saari combined traditional Sami yoik with
techno-ambient and electronic music. Saari moved to Helsinki in the mid-1980s.
Saari collaborated with the group RinneRadio on the album Joik Aani (1992) and
performed on the Hedningarna albums Trä (1994) and Hippjokk (1997). Saari
released the solo album Wimme (1995) and the EP Texas (1996). His discography
included the albums Gierran (1997), Cugu (2000), Bárru (2003), and the a
