Willy Campero
Willy Campero, born Víctor Campero in San Pedro de Jujuy, Argentina, is an
Argentine tropical singer associated with cumbia norteña, cuarteto, romantic
cumbia, and bachata. Raised between Jujuy and Salta, he began singing folklore
before entering tropical music as a teenager, first playing timbales with the
group Tornado at 13 and later moving into lead vocals. He went on to perform
with Karioma, Bandidos, and Grupo Bandy2, the group linked to one of his
best-known early recordings, “Hotel California.” After starting his solo career
