William Wallace
William Wallace, born on July 3, 1860 in Greenock, Scotland, was a Scottish
classical composer and writer who studied ophthalmology before turning to music.
After training at the Royal Academy of Music in London, he composed orchestral
works such as The Passing of Beatrice in 1892, followed by other works including
Prelude to The Eumenides (1893), In Praise of Scottish Poesie (1894), and Sir
William Wallace (1905). Wallace died on December 16, 1940.
