The Konzertvereinigung Wiener Staatsopernchor is an Austrian mixed classical choir formed from members of the Chor der Wiener Staatsoper. It was founded in 1927 by Viktor Maiwald, a chorus member of the Vienna State Opera, to give the ensemble an independent concert presence outside the opera house, similar to the model of the Vienna Philharmonic’s separation from the Vienna State Opera Orchestra.
