Wayne Walker
Wayne Paul Walker, born on December 13, 1925 in Quapaw, Oklahoma, was an
American country and rockabilly singer and songwriter. He started his career in
1949 and signed his first record deal with Chess Records in 1954, releasing his
debut single shortly after. Despite stage fright, he recorded "Love Me" with
Jimmy Lee Fautheree, recognized as one of the earliest rock 'n' roll tracks on
Chess. Walker moved to Nashville in 1956 and focused on songwriting. His
