Wayne Toups is an American Cajun and zydeco musician born in the United States
in 1958. Toups began playing the accordion at age 13 and created a genre known
as “Zydecajun”, which combines Cajun music, zydeco, R&B, and rock. Their debut
album, Wayne Toups and the Crowley Aces, was released in Europe in 1979. Toups
gained popularity in the United States in 1984 through performances at festivals
such as Festivals Acadiens. Their recordings include Zydecajun (1986), Johnnie
