Way Out West, an English electronic music duo comprising Jody Wisternoff and
Nick Warren, originated in Bristol. The pair met in a record store where Warren
was working, and discovered their shared musical direction. Initially producing
under the names Sub-Version 3 and Echo, they gained recognition through remixes
released as Way Out West. Their breakthrough came with the single "The Gift"
(1996), which sampled Joanna Law's cover of "The First Time Ever I Saw Your
