Wang Da Wen, born on 28 October 1981 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is a Taiwanese‑Chinese American singer‑songwriter who grew up in Lexington, Massachusetts, before relocating to Hong Kong at age fourteen. He first attracted attention with his single "Wake Up", which addressed Asian‑American stereotypes, and later gained viral recognition for Mandarin covers of Western pop hits such as "Friday" by Rebecca Black and "I Want It That Way" by the Backstreet Boys on YouTube.
