William Garrett Walden, known professionally as W. G. “Snuffy” Walden, was born
on February 13, 1950, in Louisiana, United States, and is a guitarist and
composer. In 1972, he played guitar on three tracks of Heartbreaker by Free. He
then formed the band Stray Dog, which released two albums between 1973 and 1974
under the Manticore label. Walden also contributed to Peter Sinfield's solo
album Still, Stevie Wonder's Songs in the Key of Life (playing on "All Day
Sucker"), and collaborated with the Eric Burdon Band on Comeback (1982) and
