Vincent Louis DiCola, born November 10, 1957 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, is an
American composer and keyboardist. He began his professional music career after
moving to California in 1981. DiCola's breakthrough came with the soundtrack for
Staying Alive (1983), co-writing several songs with Frank Stallone. This led to
his work on Sylvester Stallone's Rocky IV (1985), where he pioneered the use of
sequencers and electronic music, notably using the Fairlight CMI and Synclavier
