VHS or Beta, formed in Louisville, Kentucky in 1997, comprised guitarist and
vocalist Craig Pfunder and bassist Mark Palgy, who later became the core of the
American rock band. The group first attracted attention with the self‑released
EP Le Funk in 2002, followed by the single "The Melting Moon" in 2005, which
entered the US alternative rock charts and secured a deal with Astralwerks. In
2004 the album Night on Fire was issued, featuring the track "Night on Fire",
