Velvet, born Jenny Marielle Pettersson on November 5, 1975, is a Swedish singer
and dancer from Helsingborg, Sweden. Trained at the Ballet Academy in Stockholm,
she began her career working with artists including Meat Loaf, E-Type, and Darin
before launching her solo career. Her debut single, "Rock Down to (Electric
Avenue)," became a top-10 hit in Sweden and Russia in 2005, and her first eight
singles all reached the Swedish top 20. "Fix Me" also charted on the U.S. Hot
