Velile
Velile, born Velile Mchunu in KwaMashu, Natal, South Africa, in 1973, is a South
African pop singer and musical theatre actress. She attended drama school at the
Committed Artists Academy in Johannesburg and performed with Stevie Wonder and
Michael Jackson in 1999 for Nelson Mandela's birthday. In Hamburg, Germany, she
starred as the shaman Rafiki in the musical The Lion King, and performed in
musical productions including Sarafina, Izidumo, and Ipi Ntombi. She achieved
