VeggieTales (formed 1993, in Chicago) is an American Christian CGI-animated multimedia franchise. Created by Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki under Big Idea Entertainment, the series debuted in 1993 with the direct-to-video release "Where's God When I'm S-Scared?". Featuring anthropomorphic characters led by Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber, the project established a reputation for retelling biblical stories.
