Tura Satana, an American alternative, rap, and nu-metal band from Los Angeles,
California, was formed in 1993 under the name Manhole by frontwoman Therese
Beth. The original lineup included Scott Ueda on guitar, Rico Villasenor on
bass, and Marcelo Palomeno on drums. In 1996, they released their album All is
Not Well, produced by Ross Robinson. Following controversies during tours with
Fear Factory and Type O Negative, the band changed its name to Tura Satana in
1997 after the main character in Russ Meyer's film The Satan Weibs of Tittfield.
