Tom Grant, born February 22, 1946 in Portland, Oregon, is an American jazz
pianist and vocalist. Raised in a musical family, he learned to play piano and
drums at a young age. After graduating from the University of Oregon, Grant
moved to New York City in 1970 with saxophonist Jim Pepper, leading to
collaborations with jazz greats such as Woody Shaw, Charles Lloyd, and Tony
Williams. His first solo record, Mystified, was released in 1976. In 1983, he
