The Why Store, an American rock band formed in Muncie, Indiana, in 1988,
initially consisted of bassist Gregory Gardner and guitarist Michael David
Smith. The group's early lineup included drummer Omar Adams, who was later
replaced by Charlie Bushor in 1992. Lead singer Chris Shaffer joined shortly
after the band's formation. After changing their name to The Why Store in 1992,
they independently released Welcome to the Why Store and Inside the Why Store,
