Jake Smith is the American singer‑songwriter who performs as The White Buffalo. Raised in Oregon, Smith developed an early interest in country and punk rock, and later honed his baritone vocal style influenced by Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen. His first recorded work appeared on the 2002 self‑released Hogtied Like a Rodeo, followed by the The White Buffalo EP in 2005, which showcased acoustic folk and country blues themes.
