The Unknown DJ
Andre Manuel, born in Detroit, Michigan, is an American disc jockey and record
producer known by the stage name The Unknown DJ. He began his music career under
the mentorship of Alonzo “Grandmaster Lonzo” Williams and adopted the pseudonym
while working with the Wreckin’ Cru in 1984. His early singles include
“Beatronic” (1984) and “808 Beats” (1984), followed by “Let's Jam” (1985). He
went on to release the singles “Break-Down (Dance Your Pants Off!)” (1988) and
