The Tennors, a Jamaican rocksteady and reggae vocal group, were formed in Kingston in the mid-1960s by Albert George "Clive" Murphy. Their breakthrough came in 1967 when they recorded "Pressure and the Slide" at Studio One, establishing them as leaders in the rocksteady scene. Following Maurice Johnson's death, Murphy and Norman Davis continued as a duo, releasing hits like "Ride Yu Donkey" (1968). The group evolved into a trio with Ronnie Davis.
