The Silhouettes
The Silhouettes were an American doo-wop and rhythm and blues ensemble from
Philadelphia established in 1956. The group consisted of the musicians Earl T.
Beal, Raymond Edwards, Bill Horton, and Richard Lewis. They achieved
professional recognition for a musical career that grew out of the ensemble the
Gospel Tornadoes and the ensemble the Thunderbirds. Their recording career began
with the song "Get a Job" (1958) which reached Number 1 on the Billboard pop
singles chart for two weeks and the Billboard R&B singles chart for six weeks.
