The Mellomen were an American singing quartet that formed in 1948 in Los
Angeles. The ensemble was founded by Thurl Ravenscroft and Max Smith and is
famous for providing backup vocals for artists such as Rosemary Clooney, Bing
Crosby, and Elvis Presley. They recorded under several names, including Big John
and the Buzzards, the Crackerjacks, and the Ravenscroft Quartet. The group
contributed to numerous Disney films, including Alice in Wonderland (1951),
