The Meditation Singers were an American Gospel music group that formed in the
late 1940s. The ensemble was founded by Ernestine Rundless and originally
included Rundless, DeLillian Mitchell, Marie Waters, and her sister Deloreese
Early, who later achieved professional recognition as Della Reese. Following the
departure of Early in 1953, the group utilized Rundless’s daughter, Laura Lee,
as a replacement.
