The Manhattan Brothers were a South African vocal group formed in the 1940s by
Joe Mogotsi, Ronnie Sehume, Rufus Khoza, and Nathan Mdledle, who met while
singing at Pimville Government School in Soweto. Their breakthrough came with
the 1956 single "Lovely Lies", which entered the American Billboard Hot 100 and
established them as the first South African band to sell millions of records.
They released albums, including the compilation The Very Best Of The Manhattan
