The Harmonizing Four was an American black gospel quartet formed in 1927 in Richmond, Virginia. Their members included Joseph Williams, Thomas Johnson, and Lonnie Smith. In 1958, Ellis Johnson joined the lineup as a bass singer. The group recorded for Decca Records in 1943 and performed at the National Baptist Convention in 1944. They signed with Vee-Jay Records in 1957. Their recordings include the albums Shine on Me (1967) and Tommie, Lonnie and Me (1968). Their discography includes over two dozen albums, such as One God (1972). Williams died in 1988, followed by Smith in 1995 ...
