The Gift
The Gift is a Portuguese alternative rock and synthpop band from Alcobaça.
Formed in 1994, the group consists of singer Sónia Tavares, keyboardist Nuno
Gonçalves, bassist John Gonçalves and guitarist Miguel Ribeiro. Original member
Ricardo Braga performed with the ensemble until 1998. The band performed its
first show in July 1995 at the Alcobaça Monastery. In 1997, they released the
demo record Digital Atmosphere, which was followed by a tour. The ensemble
established its own label, La Folie Records, and released its debut studio
