The Four Tunes, a prominent black pop vocal quartet of the 1950s, originated
from The Brown Dots, which was started in New York City by Ivory "Deek" Watson.
They initially recorded for Manor Records as The Sentimentalists and later
signed with RCA Victor before moving to Jerry Blaine's Jubilee label. Their
first major hit on Jubilee was "Marie", which reached number 2 on the Billboard
R&B chart. They achieved success with "I Understand (Just How You Feel)", which
sold over one million copies and earned a gold disc. The group toured
