The Four Knights, an American band from Charlotte, North Carolina, formed in
1943. The original lineup included Gene Alford (tenor), Oscar Broadway (bass),
Clarence Dixon (baritone), and John Wallace (tenor). Initially known as the
Southland Jubilee Singers, they performed gospel music alongside vocal pop and
doo-wop numbers.
The group signed with Decca Records in 1946, releasing four singles over the
next two years. In 1951, they moved to Capitol Records, where they released
approximately 40 singles, along with two LPs and three EPs. Their breakthrough
