Axel Willner, born 1976 in Stockholm, Sweden, is a Swedish electronic musician,
DJ, producer, remixer, and instrumentist best known for his work as The Field.
After studying at a formal music academy and playing in punk bands influenced by
Misfits and Dead Kennedys, he turned to electronic music in the mid‑1990s,
performing IDM in Stockholm with Ola Keijer under the name Speedwax. He launched
The Field in 2003, blending pop micro‑samples with minimal techno, and signed
