The Drones
The Drones, an English punk rock band from Manchester, England, formed in 1975
as Rockslide. The group initially released a single titled "Roller Coaster"
under that name before reinventing themselves as The Drones and transitioning to
punk rock. Their debut performance was at the Houldsworth Hall, Manchester, with
Generation X as support. The band relocated to London and became one of the
pioneering acts at the Roxy Club. They released their debut EP Temptations of a
White Collar Worker in 1977, followed by the single "Bone Idol" that same year
and their debut album, Further Tem...
