The Doobie Brothers
Known for their soft rock hits of the 1970s, The Doobie Brothers were formed by
singer-guitarist tandem Patrick Simmons / Tom Johnston in San Jose, California,
in 1970. An archetypal country-rock band at the time, The Doobie Brothers became
the paragon of white funk and one of the most famous Californian bands in rock
history, following the integration of singer Michael McDonald in the mid-1970s.
In conjunction with numerous hit singles, including "Listen to the Music" in
1972, "Long Train Runnin'" in 1973 and "What a Fool Believes " in 1979, the band
