The Chamanas
The Chamanas is a Mexican indie pop band formed in 2013. The group originated
from the border region between El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. The
ensemble blends various musical styles including traditional Mexican folklore,
pop, bossa nova and danzón. The founding members were Manuel Calderón and Héctor
Carreon, later joined by Paulina Reza and Alejandro Bustillos. Reza replaced the
group's original singer, Amalia Mondragón. In 2015, the band signed with the
independent labels Casete México and Nacional Records and released the EP
