The Buoys
The Buoys was an American pop and rock band formed in Wilkes-Barre,
Pennsylvania, in 1970, consisting of lead vocalist Bill Kelly, keyboardist Fran
Brozena, bassist Jerry Hludzik, drummer Carl Siracuse, and guitarist Chris
Hanlon. The group’s first major exposure came with the single “Timothy” (1970),
released on Scepter Records, which reached number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 in
1971 and became a hit despite being banned by several radio stations for its
