B.B. & Q. Band, an Italian-American post-disco group formed in 1979 and
disbanded in 1987, was a studio concept created by businessman Jacques Fred
Petrus. The band, named after the three boroughs of New York City—Brooklyn,
Bronx, and Queens—initially featured session bassist Paris Ford and his
musicians. Their self-titled debut album on Capitol Records included hits like
"On the Beat", which reached number 8 on the US Billboard Black Singles chart,
