The Adicts, formed in Ipswich, Suffolk, England, emerged from the late‑1975 punk
scene under the name The Afterbirth before settling on The Adicts; the founding
lineup included Keith “Monkey” Warren on vocals, brothers Pete “Pete Dee”
Davison and Michael “Kid Dee” Davison on guitar and drums, and bassist Mel
“Spider” Ellis. Their debut album Songs of Praise was released in 1981,
