Thad Aaron Cockrell was an American singer-songwriter who grew up mostly in
Tampa, Florida. He developed a love for country music and rock 'n' roll despite
his home environment forbidding it. His father was a Baptist pastor, and
Cockrell began writing songs while studying at Southeastern Baptist Theological
Seminary. In 2001, Cockrell released his debut album Stack of Dreams, recorded
with Chris Stamey of The dB's. This album received favorable reviews for its
