Terry Pratchett
Terence David John Pratchett, known professionally as Terry Pratchett, was born
on April 28, 1948, in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, England. He began his
career as a journalist after publishing his first short story at the age of 13
and worked for various newspapers before transitioning to writing full-time.
Pratchett's breakthrough came with the publication of The Carpet People in 1971.
