Taves, born Toluwani Ayomide Aluko on June 23, 2003, is a Nigerian
singer-songwriter from Port Harcourt, with roots in Oyo State. Known for his
blend of Afropop, alternative R&B, soul, and alté influences, he first gained
attention with his EP 18 (2021) before breaking through with tracks such as
“Eleyele”, “Folake”, and “Bodija”. His introspective songwriting, smooth vocals,
and eclectic style led to the release of his critically acclaimed EP Are You
Listening? (2024). In 2026, Taves scored a hit with “Uche Jumbo”, which reached
No. 44 on Billboard’s U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart.
