Takajin Yashiki (real name Takaji Yashiki) was born on 5 October 1949 in
Nishinari‑ku, Osaka, Japan, and emerged as a singer rooted in the
soul‑influenced pop scene of the 1970s. After beginning his career in Kyoto’s
Gion district, he relocated to Shimokitazawa in 1980, where his debut single
"Suna no Juujika" in 1981 became the theme for the first Mobile Suit Gundam film
and sold thirteen thousand copies. Yashiki’s discography progressed with the
