T. V. Gopalakrishnan
Tripunithura Viswanathan Gopalakrishnan is an Indian Carnatic and Hindustani
classical musician and percussionist born in Tripunithura, Kerala, India, on
June 11, 1932. Gopalakrishnan began playing the mridangam at four years of age
and performed his debut arangetram at the Cochin palace at six years of age. A
disciple of Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar, Gopalakrishnan toured and
collaborated with artists such as George Harrison, Bob Dylan, John Handy, Ravi
