The A. V. Sveshnikov State Academic Russian Choir is a classical vocal ensemble
that formed in 1936. The group was established as the choir of the USSR
All-Union Radio and achieved professional recognition under the direction of
Aleksandr Sveshnikov, who served as permanent director from 1941 to 1980. The
ensemble is famous for being one of the principal choirs of Russia and for its
interpretation of national folk and sacred music. Their discography includes the
